First Impression: angela - Soukyuu

With the new Fafner movie premiered in Japan on 25th December last year, angela released a new single with the movie's opening themes, 蒼穹 (Soukyuu in romaji. Translation is Azure Sky).
I'd say the song, Soukyuu, really fits the movie. It's also a huge change from her previous single Aoi Haru, but for some reason, Soukyuu feels a little messy but personally, I kinda liked it that way although it could be better if atsuko were to control her voice more.

The single's B side, さよならの時くらい微笑んで (Sayonara no Toki Kurai Hohoen de - At Least Smile During Goodbye), unlike their A side, is similar to a ballad; slow paced, packed with instruments and is much better.

In my own personal opinion, side B of this single is the track to look out for. As I said before, side A can be better if atsuko were to control her voice more. I'm wondering how her singles for 2011 is going to turn out though.

You can grab Soukyuu from CDJapan and Play-Asia
