U.S, Japan Publishers Band On to Fight Scanlations
Scanlations. I'm pretty sure most of us heard of it and read it online, be it on their notebooks, mobile phones, tablets while on the run or at home. Manga publishers in the U.S. and Japan have now formed an alliance to fight against these scanlations, especially sites that collects these scans and upload it up their server for online view.
What I'm most impressed at this piece of news is the number of publishers the alliance have - 36 from Japan and a few from U.S.
I guess these sites are being popular and coupled with declining manga sales is a like a bee sting stuck on your behind and causing publishers to take action on their part but how this will impact the overall manga community in the future, well, looks bleak.
