PS3 - Finally, It's Truly Hacked With its First Custom Firmware

PS3 jailbreaking is all the rage since last year, but it seems hackers has finally see the light as fail0verflow has finally cracked the uncrackable PS3, simply by extracting the system's master key. The master key is used to signed all games and software running in the console to confirm it's all legit and therefore, once the key is known, any kinds of software and games can be signed, which calls for another concern where it enables piracy.

As soon as the PS3 is cracked, KaKaRoTo has managed to create a CFW (Custom Firmware) though due to copyright issues, he didn't release the firmware. No worries though, some tools are available to convert your official firmware to custom firmware. He also mentioned that
"The advantage here is that you can do it for any firmware, if you want to keep version 3.41, then give it the 3.41 update, if you are on 3.55 already and can’t downgrade, then run the script on the official 3.55 firmware and it will create a modified 3.55 firmware.

You can put the file in a USB drive under the filename “PS3/UPDATE/PS3UPDAT.PUP” and then go to system update in the XMB, and it will allow you to install the update (even if you’re already on 3.55)."
For now, the CFW can't do much. The only change is that you will be able to add 'install package files' to the game section of the Cross Media Bar. But I'm pretty sure more things will be added on in later stages.

100 copies of Call of Duty: Black Ops looted

I say either these robbers wasn't able to pre-order their Black Ops, extreme die hard fans or simply had a brilliant idea in selling them at a black market for a higher price. These robbers, armed with guns, raided a Maryland GameStop, 100 Black Ops game software, consoles and cash during their raid while the shop was closing. I can imagine the reaction of the cops when the shopkeeper reported it: -
Police operator: 911 emergency, how can I help you?
Shopkeeper: H...help! Th..the place has been robbed!! They were carrying guns and pointing it at my face!
Police operator: Calm down sir, may I know what has been stolen?
Shopkeeper: You wouldn't believe me but they stole 100 copies of Call of Duty: Black Ops...and tomorrow's the release date!!
Police operator: What in the...!? Is my copy safe!?
Well, jokes aside, hopefully those who pre-ordered the game are still able to get their Black Ops fix.

Night time internet surfing can save lives

Consider this scenario; You woke up in the middle of the night, tossing and turning and unable to sleep. You decided to log on the internet to check new tweets and play some mini games until twenty minutes later, you heard a loud crash and found a car sleeping in your bed. This is exactly what happened to one lucky Melbourne man. Check out the video right after the break!

Hayate no Gotoku! Live-Action Announced!

Gaia TV, a Taiwanese production and broadcasting company has announced it's making a live-action adaptation of the debt-ridden butler manga, Hayate no Gotoku! It feels weird having a 20-year-old Korean, Shin-Hye Park, playing as Nagi and 28-year-old George Hu as Hayate, as the characters in the manga itself are much more younger, with Nagi being 13 and Hayate 16. Age difference aside, it's a wonder if the Taiwanese live-action will resemble the manga, especially the exaggerated scenes and a talking white tiger.

Just a little updates to the site

Decided to do a little updated on the layout. As anyone can see, the list of categories by the side is gone and was moved to the second bar. I have no idea what came over me when I put the list by the side in the first place when there's obviously lots of space to put them on top! Also, the blog archive, originally by the left, is removed and replaced it with a list of Recent Post of up to 20, after which was shifted to the left after a couple of days, and my *ahem* shameless ads *coughs* is then placed at the right. The list for recent posts might change new posts from different categories but I'm still thinking about it. There's a few other changes and simple updates planned but it'll be postponed to a different day.

Now here's a unique way to reuse junk and get attention from tourist. Whoopi Goldberg - I just murdered my new iPhone

An interesting clip where Whoopi Goldberg explained how she destroyed her iPhone. Apparently, she was supposed to have an interview over the phone and after attempting to call her for 45 minutes, she didn't pick up. Her phone didn't even rang despite the other side was hearing the ringing! When they finally got her, the call was dropped. Pissed off, Whoopi got out of her car and smashed it to the floor. That really tickled my funny bone. Video after the break!
